EU lifts residue limits for four natural ais

The European Commission has removed strict EU maximum residue limits (MRLs) from four naturally occurring agrochemical active ingredients. The ais are: the insecticide/acaricide, herbicide and plant growth regulator, capric acid; the fungicide and insecticide/acaricide, lime sulfur; the acaricide/insecticide, paraffin oil; and the insecticide, urea. The decision to move the ais into Annex IV of the EU pesticide MRL Regulation (396/2005) means that they will no longer be subject to the default MRL value of 0.01 mg/kg.
