Work continues on EU GM maize co-existence advice

The European Co-existence Bureau (ECoB) aims to finalise its first draft of guidelines for the co-existence of genetically modified maize with conventional crops by the end of the year. The ECoB was set up by the European Commission in 2008 ( Agrow No 534, p 9). The Commission sees its work as a way to enhance the efficiency of national co-existence programmes, in preference to imposing mandatory EU-wide rules ( Agrow No 565, p 14).
