Canada to re-register dithiopyr
The Canadian Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) has proposed the continued registration of the herbicide, dithiopyr, provided that some label changes are made. The PMRA has no human health risk concerns provided that a 12-hour restricted entry interval is applied for most uses. It also requires 1-4 m buffer zones to protect sensitive aquatic habitats. There is only one Canadian dithiopyr-based product, Dow AgroSciences’ Dimension. It is used to control crabgrass ( Digitaria spp) in turf.
