Syngenta expands four-way GM maize range in US
Syngenta Seedsis to market 44 genetically modified Agrisure 3000GT maize hybrids in the US in 2009. The four-way stacks combine resistance to corn rootworms ( Diabrotica spp) and European corn borers ( Ostrinia nubilalis) with tolerance to the herbicides, glyphosate and glufosinate-ammonium. The hybrids combine “high-performance traits with elite genetics without yield drag”, Syngenta says. The company launched Agrisure 3000GT maize in the US this year ( Agrow No 527, p 27).
