EU review of 64 ais - correction
The 64 ais listed in Agrow No 559, p 8 are not scheduled to be phased out, as incorrectly indicated in the Agrow report. The companies concerned have agreed to a temporary voluntary withdrawal of their active ingredients from the EU review process, so that they can resubmit data for re-registration. The 64 ais are in a new EU process that aims to provide more time for a complete evaluation of certain ais in the review. It applies to ais where the draft assessment report has identified data gaps, but has not raised any safety concerns. The European Commission has set a deadline of December 31st 2010 for the completion of the data resubmission and review of these ais, which can remain on the market during this evaluation period.
