Canadian approval decision for Makhteshim-Agan Industries' Rimon:

The Canadian Pest Management Regulatory Authority has proposed the full registration of Makhteshim-Agan Industries' insecticide, Rimon 10 EC (novaluron 100 g/litre), for use on potatoes and pome fruit. The product is recommended for the control of Colorado beetles (Leptinotarsa decemlineata) and European corn borers (Ostrinia nubilalis) on potatoes at 44-88 g ai/ha and for codling moths (Cydia pomonella) and oriental fruit moths (C molesta) at 10-15 g ai/ha. Novaluron underwent a shared review between the Canadian and US authorities. It received US food-use approvals in 2004 (Agrow No 449, p 22). The Canadian registration decision is subject to a 45-day public comment period from December 22nd.
