Indian data call-in for ten ais (active ingredients):
The Indian Ministry of Agriculture has called on pesticide registrants to amend labels and provide certain study data for ten active ingredients. The ais are in the first phase of a review started last year of 37 ais that are restricted in some other countries (Agrow No 492, p 16). Field studies must be conducted by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research. The data has to be submitted to the Central Insecticides Board's registration committee within five years. Failure to do so will result in the withdrawal of certain uses of the products, the Ministry says.
