Austria's water nearly residue-free:

Pesticide residues are decreasing in Austrian inland water samples, according to the Ministry of Agriculture's latest study. Minister of Agriculture Josef Proll has labelled the outcome as "very satisfactory". The 2003/04 survey covered 130 pesticide and fertiliser substances at 2,000 monitoring points. It found that, of the pesticides, only atrazine persisted as a problem. However, no further measures are required to lower atrazine residues in water, as its incidence shows a strongly decreasing trend, the Ministry adds. "Our central goal is to reduce existing residues of any kind as well as to reduce systematically any causes, in order to achieve the legal requirements for ground and surface water," Mr Proll says.
