Isagro's fourth-quarter results - correction:
Italian agrochemical company Isagro's operations in Latin America (Agrow No 514, p 7) are run jointly with Italian agrochemical company Sipcam. Their joint venture, Isagro Sipcam International, owns 75% of the Colombian company, Barpen, and 51% of the Argentine distributor, Agro Max. The partners also have equal ownership and control of the Brazilian company, Sipcam Agro (Agrow No 500, p 3), re-named Sipcam Isagro Brasil on January 31st. Isagro does not expect sales of the fungicide, tetraconazole, to rise in the US this year against Asian soybean rust (Phakopsora pachyrhizi), as reported in Agrow. It is cautious and does not assume such sales until 2010. Isagro anticipates the product's growth in Brazil this year. Despite seeing soybeans and rice as major agricultural drivers, Isagro stresses its commitment to research covering a broad spectrum of crops.
