Syngenta herbicide for glyphosate-tolerant maize:

Syngenta aims to launch a new combination herbicide, Halex GT (mesotrione + S-metolachlor + glyphosate), for use on glyphosate-tolerant maize in the US in 2008. A single post-emergence application of Halex GT controls a range of grasses and broadleaf weeds, including ragweeds (Ambrosia spp), lambsquarters (Chenopodium album) and pigweeds (Amaranthus spp), Syngenta says. The herbicide provides residual control of weeds that are resistant to glyphosate, triazines or acetolactate synthase inhibitors, it adds.
