US EPA tackles risks for non-crop phenoxies:
The US EPA is seeking risk reduction suggestions for the phenoxy herbicides, dichlorprop-P and mecoprop-P, as it prepares re-registration eligibility decisions. The Agency has concerns over potential effects to some terrestrial and aquatic organisms. Both herbicides are used for a range of commercial and residential applications, including turf and rights-of-way. There are no food-use registrations for the herbicides. Members of the mecoprop-P task force are supporting registrations of mecoprop-P acid as well as dimethylamine and potassium salts. The dichlorprop-P task force is supporting dichlorprop-P acid as well as the N-methylmethanamine salt and the ethylhexyl ester.
