Australia to approve pyraflufen-ethyl?

The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) has recommended the approval of Summit Agro Australia's herbicide, Summit Ecopar 20 SC (Nihon Nohyaku's pyraflufen-ethyl). The product is recommended for the control of annual broadleaf weeds in wheat, oats, barley, triticale and rye. Pyraflufen-ethyl is one of several new active ingredients that Sumitomo Corporation's Australian subsidiary plans to introduce (Agrow No 470, p 4). The APVMA's approval decision is open to public comment for a 28-day period from May 1st.
