US re-registration decision for chlorflurenol:
The US EPA has concluded that the non-crop herbicide/plant growth regulator, chlorflurenol, is eligible for re-registration provided that certain risk mitigation measures are taken. A cap on sales of this low-volume pesticide and a reduction in application rates are expected to address the Agency's concerns over health and ecological risks. Chlorflurenol is registered by Repar Corporation for use on pineapples, turf, ornamentals and rights-of-way. However, use is limited to ornamental trees in three US states and pineapples in Hawaii, the EPA notes.
