Brazil Anvisa OKs plant-based ant killer
The Brazilian national health surveillance agency, the Anvisa, has recommended the approval of a new plant-based insecticide for the control of ants, subject to a 30-day comment period. The soil-applied granular formulation is based on extracts of the plants, Tephrosia candida and Psychotria marcgravii. The comment period has passed. If agreed under the agency’s recommendations, it could be used on any crop.
