US EPA fines Wilbur-Ellis over pesticides
The US EPA has fined the US agrochemical distibutor, Wilbur-Ellis (San Francisco, California), $99,600 for 21 alleged violations of federal pesticide law. The company agreed to pay the fine to settle enforcement actions following inspections in 2007 and 2008. The alleged violations included the distribution of misbranded products. The herbicide, Vengeance Plus (MCPA + triclopyr + dichlorprop-P), was sold with a label that failed to include protective equipment requirements for applicators, the EPA notes.
