Bayer/GVK BioSciences to co-develop new agchems
Bayer CropScience and Indian contract research company GVK Biosciences (Hyderabad) are to co-research “early discovery chemistry”. The partners aim to “speed up the research for promising active ingredients for innovative crop protection products”. Bayer will integrate GVK capacities in the early part of its discovery chemistry process, it says. GVK president Manni Kantipudi claims that the company “has built world-class capabilities in early discovery chemistry”. The Indian company formed a strategic alliance with DuPont earlier this year ( Agrow No 564, p 3).
