PETA urges non-animal testing for nanomaterials

In comments submitted at a public meeting held last month on a federal working group's report — Environmental, Health, and Safety Research Needs for Engineered Nanoscale Materials — People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) urged the government to avoid animal experiments when researching nanomaterials, not only to avoid cruelty to animals, but because such experiments are outdated and don't provide pertinent information.
