Risk Assessment for Nanomaterials - May 29

The Society for Risk Analysis(SRA)/Intertox, the Toxic Use Reduction Institute (TURI) and the Cambridge, Mass. Public Health Department are hosting a one-day training seminar May 29 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology on "Risk Assessment for Nanomaterials: Current Developments and Trends." According to a meeting announcement on the TURI Web site, "topics will include a discussion of the current understanding of nanomaterial risks, environmental health and safety state-of-the-practice in companies involved with nanomaterials, a discussion of current and anticipated regulatory developments in the field, a primer on the toxicology of nanomaterials (including ecotoxicological issues), and an assessment of appropriate occupational safety and health practices associated with these technologies."
