Chemical Management in Developing Countries: March 2-3
An ad-hoc committee of the National Academy of Sciences focused on promoting safe and secure chemical management in developing countries will hold its first meeting March 2-3 at the Academy's Keck Center location, 500 5th St NW, Washington, D.C. According to the project description, it will “produce materials providing guidance on a baseline of practices required to promote safety and security in [the] handling and use of [toxic industrial chemicals] and other hazardous chemicals on the laboratory scale in the developing world.” The March 3 session will be closed to the public. The March 2 session will include an overview of the Department of State's Chemical Security Engagement Program, including a discussion of the program's chemical safety and security training element.
