Spain extends sustainable crop protection to semiochemicals
Spain has issued a decree modifying a 2014 order to regulate the marketing of “certain plant protection measures”, notably semiochemicals. The law adapts national legislation to EU rules. Decree 534/2017 brings the monitoring of semiochemical products including pheromones among crop protection methods within regulations. The products, usually used in IPM programmes, had been excluded from consideration as crop protection methods in earlier legislation, the Ministry of Agriculture explains. The statute modifies Decree 591/2014.
