20-year agchem use drop from GM crops
The reduction in agrochemical usage associated with genetically modified crops amounted to 8.1% between 1996 and 2015, according to the latest analysis by UK consultancy P G Economics. It points to a 618,700 tonne decrease in herbicide and insecticide use over the period. The trend continues the decline seen in previous years. Usage fell by 8.2% between 1996 and 2014.
