Arysta/DowDuPont partner on seed treatments

DowDuPont has entered into a global seed treatment collaboration with Platform Specialty Products’ agrochemical business, Arysta LifeScience.

DowDuPont has entered into a global seed treatment collaboration with Platform Specialty Products’ agrochemical business, Arysta LifeScience. The DuPont Crop Protection business unit of DowDuPont will acquire rights to register, develop and commercialise seed treatments based on Arysta’s unnamed “innovative fungicide technology”. It will market proprietary combinations through DuPont’s seed brands and those of third-party seed companies.

The new products would include a systemic fungicide for the control of soil- and seed-borne diseases including Fusarium spp, Rhizoctonia spp, smuts, bunts and seed rots. The initial focus will be on products for use on maize and soybean seed, but the companies intend to extend the collaboration to the development of additional products for other crops.
