The antimicrobials debate needs a dose of objectivity

For those on the fringes of the antimicrobials debate, it may be easy to be drawn into the hyperbole about resistance and its causes. The animal health industry sees this all too clearly. What is needed is an unbiased discussion, says Bayer Animal Health’s head of research and development Professor Michael Londershausen. Indeed, the debate would benefit from an injection of objectivity, so that the industry can focus on the main goal of treating sick animals effectively and sustainably, he tells IBI principal analyst Ashley Yeo.
