FDA reports Vetsulin shortage

The US Food and Drug Administration is anticipating a shortage of Vetsulin (porcine insulin zinc suspension), Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health’s treatment for diabetic dogs and cats. Pets that are currently receiving Vetsulin, which is only available in the US through I/SPAH’s Vetsulin Critical Need Program, are to be treated with other insulin products as a result of the shortage.
