COCA-Cola has launched its flagship brand in 200ml bottles in Kenya to better tap the country’s low-end market. The format will retail for KES15.0 (USD0.16). The company is set to face fresh competition from PepsiCo, which stopped bottling in Kenya in the 1970s but this year has returned. PepsiCo is building a KES2.4 billion manufacturing presence in Nairobi, set to be up and running in 2012. Until now, Coca-Cola has been using the 300ml bottle as the smallest serving of its soft drinks, priced at KES25, Kenya’s Business Daily reported.
