Citrus greening threat may force destruction of sick orange trees

THE incidence of citrus greening or Huanglongbing (HLB) in the groves of Brazil’s São Paulo state has doubled over the past year and now the disease has already infected 7.6 million orange trees, according to the results of a new survey unveiled in Brazil. Ideally, the trees need to be uprooted in order to prevent further spread of the disease.
